The Fort Detrick Alliance, Inc. was founded in 2003 as an independent, non-profit Maryland corporation. The Alliance is designated a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt membership organization under the rules of the Internal Revenue Code of the United States.
A Board of Directors governs the organization, and the day-to-day activities are carried out by the Executive Director. Nearly 100 businesses, individuals, and organizations are members of the Fort Detrick Alliance. Support for its activities and objectives are also received from many civic, corporate, and government organizations. Mission Statement The primary purpose of the organization is to facilitate “communication and understanding between Federal agencies at Fort Detrick and the community at large”. To accomplish this mission, the Fort Detrick Alliance works on a daily basis to build relationships between Fort Detrick and its constituencies in the region: individuals; businesses; civic, social, and educational organizations; and local and State government entities. Vision As a Federal and community partnership, we create long-term economic growth in Maryland by serving as a liaison to the agencies at Fort Detrick which are: Department of Defense (DOD), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Department of Agriculture (USDA), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Strategic Goals The Fort Detrick Alliance has a set of strategic goals set for each fiscal year. We can only accomplish these goals with strong partnerships throughout the community.
