Robert (Bob) Young, Ph.D.
Treasurer



Dr. Young has been a member of the Fort Detrick Alliance Board of Directors since 2006. He also serves as a member of the Education Committee.

Dr. Young is Associate Vice President of Learning and the Dean of Workforce Development and Professional Preparation at Frederick Community College where he is responsible for the College’s career credit programs.

Dr. Young’s previous experience includes 10 years as a Community College Administrator. He retired from the Navy after 22 years as a Naval Flight Officer. He was a P-3 Tactical Coordinator, and he served as Commanding Officer of the Newport Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station and the Keflavik Naval Facility.

A graduate of the Royal Naval Staff College, Dr. Young has a Bachelors degree in Secondary Education (Math and Chemistry), a Masters degree in Information Systems, and a Doctorate in Community College Leadership.

Dr. Young works The Frederick County Business Roundtable for Education and serves as a Boy Scout Leader.
