Laurie Boyer, CEcD
Board Member



Ms. Boyer has been a Member of the Board of the Fort Detrick Alliance since 2007 and is a member of the Education Committee. She has worked for the Frederick County Government since 1996, joining the staff of the Office of Economic Development in 2001. Ms. Boyer was named Deputy Director of the organization in 2005 and has served as Executive Director since 2007.
 
Ms. Boyer has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications/Spanish from Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, and a Master of Arts in Communication Studies from West Virginia University in Morgantown. In 2006, she earned an Economic Development Certification (CEcD) from the International Economic Development Council.

Several business and development organizations in the Frederick area and throughout Maryland benefit from Ms. Boyer's participation. She is a member of the Maryland Economic Development Association (MEDA), the Biotechnology Industry Organization, the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce, Greater Washington Initiative, CoreNet Global's corporate real estate network, and the World Trade Center Institute. Ms. Boyer serves on the MEDA Board, the MEDA Foundation Board, the Downtown Frederick Partnership Board, the Agriculture Business Council, the Small Business Development Center's Statewide Advisory Board, the East Frederick Rising Board, and the Board of the Frederick Innovative Technology Center, Inc.

Ms. Boyer is a lifelong resident of Frederick County.
